Ella Purnell and Hailee Steinfeld play sisters bridging disparate worlds in the second and final season.
When we last left Vi (Hailee Steinfeld) and Jinx (Ella Purnell) at the end of Arcane’s Emmy-winning Season 1, the sisters found themselves at yet another crossroads in their relationship. After years of separation, with Vi trapped in a prison in the technological world of Piltover and her younger sister Jinx in the underworld of Zaun, Vi longs to reconnect, but Jinx’s trauma might have created a gap too wide to bridge. “Vi finally accepts that the sister she knew is gone, and in Season 2, you’ll see how she copes with this realization,” say the show’s creators Christian Linke and Alex Yee.
As last season came to a close, Jinx, spiraling after her mentor Silco’s death, set off a rocket aimed squarely at Piltover’s council. “In Season 2, the conflict between Piltover and Zaun is heightened. So a lot of the themes are about how our characters react to their worlds being turned upside down in the midst of this political turmoil,” the creators say.
Packed full of action and dynamic animated visuals, Arcane’s second season delivers the final chapter in the story of two dueling sisters and their disparate worlds.
