Kristen Bell and Adam Brody star as an unlikely couple in Erin Foster's series Nobody Wants This.
A beloved rabbi and a has-no-filter sex and relationship podcaster walk into a bar, and against all the odds, fall in love. Such is the premise of Nobody Wants This, a romantic comedy series from writer and creator Erin Foster (Barely Famous) starring Golden Globe nominee Kristen Bell (The Good Place) and Screen Actors Guild Award nominee Adam Brody (American Fiction) as the unexpected match at its center.
Bell is at her wittiest as Joanne, an agnostic woman as outspoken as she is anxious, who falls hard for Noah (Brody), a rabbi on track to lead his temple. Their courtship is anything but smooth, as their lovingly meddling families — including Joanne’s charismatic yet acerbic
sister Morgan (Justine Lupe, Succession) and Noah’s goofy and obnoxious brother Sasha (Timothy Simons, VEEP) — do everything in their power to thwart the pair.
For Foster, Nobody Wants This is her most personal project yet. “This show is based on the only good decision I ever made: falling for a nice Jewish boy,” says the creator. “I realized that being happy is way harder than being miserable (there’s nothing to complain about). So I created this show based on all the ways that finding the right person can be so hard.”
