When the second season of a beloved show drops, there’s simply no better feeling — especially when that show is as rambunctious and delicious as Heartbreak High.
The Australian young adult dramedy calls its students back to school for term two at Hartley High, picking up where the first season’s antics left off. Heartbreak High’s inaugural season followed friends Amerie (Ayesha Madon) and Harper (Asher Yasbincek) as their relationship crumbled. In the midst of their friendship breakup, love triangles, new cliques, and young angst blossomed, along with viewers’ love for the show. The season went on to win the International Emmy for Kids: Live-Action Series, along with six Australian Academy of Cinema and Television Arts Awards, tagging its name in permanent marker as one of the best young adult series of recent years.
Season 2 reunites best friends Amerie and Harper, along with their classmates, including fan favorites Darren (James Majoos), Quinni (Chloe Hayden), Malakai (Thomas Weatherall), and Ca$h (Will McDonald). Audiences are also introduced to some new students, like Rowan (Sam Rechner), a country boy new to Sydney and headed straight into a love triangle of his own. With its sophomore season, Heartbreak High delivers more of the quirky, heartwarming, and hilarious stories that make the cast of characters relatable not just to Gen Zers, but anyone looking to tap into the magic and mayhem of young life.
